Dear friends and supporters,  My name is Matt Novak and I am the founder of Surfing Servants. 

Did you know that globally over 600 million children still lack safely managed drinking water?  Of those, 400,000 children under the age of 5 die each year!  That equals 1000 child deaths a day!!

Surfing Servants is a registered 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to help end this terrible statistic by delivering clean drinking water filters to as many families as possible. 

Background: A few years ago, I discovered that many developing countries have a severe lack of clean drinking water. This interest started during annual surf trips to El Salvador where I found local families and their children had limited or no access to clean drinking water. They were forced to drink from polluted water sources causing them to get sick. This was the starting point for Surfing Servants. We are dedicated to making a lasting impact by providing Sawyer clean water filters to communities in need.

Since our inception in 2022 we have provided over 1000 filters in 11 countries. It has been a team effort between us, our partners, and the communities we serve and we are proud to say, “We give where we go”. 

As this nonprofit expands the necessity for funds does as well. Each water filter costs around $35 including shipping. By supporting Surfing Servants you too can make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing the lack of decent water.

One family – $35

Three families – $100 

Six Families – $200

Twelve Families – $400

Please Join us in our goal to purchase and deliver 300-500 filters each year which would. Your donations are saving these families’ lives.  All donations go directly to purchasing water filters.  Our organization does not take any salary and we pay our own flights, room, and board on all of our trips.

Additional programs:  Our goal is to always serve others by showing God’s love in a practical way.   While our water filters are our biggest area of serving others, we also have the following programs:  Bibles- We are a Christian organization and in the process of distributing filters, we have been connected to churches around the globe. They have asked for help in other ways. They have requested Bibles that have been translated into their language that they can pass on to those who cannot afford to hear God’s word.  We also provide small financial support to these churches during times of need.   Surf Camps for  Military Children-  We love and appreciate all our military families and the sacrifices they make to serve our country.  We want to help serve them.  Surfing is known for being a wellness and mental health benefit  and we want to bless local military families that could not ordinarily afford it, a chance to send their kids to a local surfing camp.  We are fortunate to support this program with finances that come from an exclusive donor and our some of our own personal funds.
